About us:

Prior Kain is run by Dr. Sophie Kain and David Prior who bring extensive knowledge of research and technology to bear on operations. In order to keep our overheads to a minimum we don't employ people directly but rather we adopt a virtual team approach which allows us to allocate people appropriately to projects based on their skill set, location and the timing of the project.

Dr. Sophie Kain (Director)

Sophie Sophie was awarded a first class honours degree from University College London in 1997 and went on to study a PhD in Quantum Mechanics. On successful completion of her PhD in 2001 she started work at Thales Research and Technology (TRT) where she led projects on Adaptive Learning Systems and Information Management. She initiated the first programme to span the three TRT laboratories in France, Netherlands and UK in the area of Cognitive Systems research. She then went on to set up and lead a large collaborative team between TRT and University of Surrey to study remote collaboration technologies. She joined General Dynamics United Kingdom in 2005, primarily to ensure exploitation of Data Information Fusion Defence Technology Centre technologies into the Ministry of Defence. In 2007 she was selected to be a finalist on 'The Apprentice - Series 3' and has since set up Prior Kain.
